Rueon Boorman has over 25 years of work experience in a variety of roles. Rueon began their career in 1995 as a Process Engineer at GEC Plessey Semiconductors. In 1998, they moved to Honda UK as a Project Engineer and to Siemens as a Defect and Yield Engineer. In 2000, they took on the role of Senior Process Engineer and Team Leader at Bookham Technology. In 2004, they became the Operations and Engineering Manager at INEX (UoN). In 2011, they were Engineering and Maintenance Manager at UMECO. From 2013 to 2016, they worked at Cytec Solvay Group as a Process Development/Project Engineering Manager. From 2016 to 2017, they were the GEO Capital Projects Manager and Eu Process and Projects Engineering Manager at Solvay Composites GBU. In 2020, they became the Director of Volunteers at Prince Bishop Community Broadcasting. Most recently, they were the Head of Operations (Sedgefield Site) and Process Engineering Manager at SmartKem, Inc.

Rueon Boorman's education history includes a BSc in Materials Science from The University of Manchester between 1992 and 1995. Rueon also attended Siddal Moor from 1979 to 1984. Boorman has had additional training in Mid-Level Leadership at Cytec from 2015 to 2016, IOSH at Connaught in 2009, Prince 2 at INEX Newcastle University in 2008, and Six Sigma (Green and Black Belt) at Bookham Technology from 2002 to 2003.
