Alex Barberá González has a diverse work history in the field of sustainability and energy efficiency. Alex started their career in 2006 as a Building Project Engineer, specializing in sustainability at IDOM Ingeniería y sistemas. During their time there, they focused on engineering projects, cost control, and quality assessment. Alex also gained expertise in energy optimization and simulation software.

In 2011, Barberá González co-founded Mirubee, a start-up partnered with Telefónica through Wayra, an accelerator of business ideas. As the Chief Executive Officer (CEO), they led the development of Mirubee's web platform, which aimed to help small consumers understand and reduce their energy consumption.

Currently, Barberá González is serving as the Business Unit Director at SMILICS Technologies. In this role, they are responsible for the development of a solar surplus management system, which aims to maximize home photovoltaic production without the use of batteries. Their responsibilities include project conceptualization, supplier evaluation, team management, and pilot testing.

Throughout their career, Barberá González has demonstrated a strong commitment to sustainability and innovation in the energy sector.

Alex Barberá González studied at the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya from 1999 to 2005, where they earned a degree in Industrial Engineering with a focus on mechanics. In 2005, they completed a Bachelor's degree project on finite element analysis at TU Kaiserslautern. In addition, Alex obtained the Certified Measurement and Verification Professional (CMVP) certification from the Efficiency Valuation Organization (EVO) in December 2011.
