Stephanie Poe began their work experience in 2009 as an Administrative Assistant/Receptionist at Fauquier County Human Resources. Stephanie then worked at Ernst & Young, LLP as a Diversified Tax Services Intern in 2012, before moving on to Commonwealth Orthopedics as an Accounts Payable File Clerk. Stephanie joined EY in 2013, where they held the role of Global Compliance and Reporting Senior until 2017. Stephanie then transitioned to Smith-Midland Corporation, where they worked as an Accounting Manager before becoming the Controller, and later the Chief Financial Officer in 2023.

Stephanie Poe holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration in Accounting from Appalachian State University, obtained from 2008 to 2012. Stephanie then pursued a Master's of Science in Accounting from George Mason University, completed in 2013. In 2014, they obtained their Certified Public Accountant certification from the Virginia Board of Accountancy.
