Public Relations Marketing Manager

Marketing · MA, United States of America

Job description

Every day, the world gets more digital thanks to tens of millions of developers building the future faster than ever. But with exponential growth comes exponential risk, as outnumbered security teams struggle to secure mountains of code. This is where Snyk (pronounced “sneak”) comes in. Snyk is a developer security platform that makes it easy for development teams to find, prioritize, and fix security vulnerabilities in code, dependencies, containers, and cloud infrastructure — and do it all right from the start. Snyk is on a mission to make the world a more secure place by empowering developers to develop fast and stay secure.

Joining Snyk means embracing our core values: One Team, Care Deeply, Customer Centric, and Forward Thinking. As a member of our team, you’ll have the opportunity to thrive in a dynamic environment where fostering collaboration, leading with empathy, driving business impact, and inspiring trust are at the heart of everything we do.

Our Opportunity

Reporting to the Senior Director, Corporate Communications, this new role will help to further scale Snyk’s Communications function globally, helping our priority buyers to better understand our company, technology, and global impact. The Content Marketing team plays a crucial role in driving content clarity, consistency, and strategy. This involves working with various teams within Snyk to create and refine content that meets messaging goals and adheres to the Snyk style. Additionally, it requires taking a broad view of content to identify gaps and duplications, thereby increasing content impact.

You’ll Spend Your Time:

  • Executing regional media relations programs in partnership with cross-functional teams; working with the wider communications team to drive an always-on program worldwide.
  • Identifying and telling compelling stories beyond major news moments, securing proactive earned media coverage in EMEA and APJ.
  • Helping drive global consistency in all corporate messaging and FAQs.
  • Accelerating Snyk’s global media results through innovative storytelling across both traditional and new channels, adopting digital and cross-channel strategies where appropriate to break through with key audiences.
  • Building best-in-class communications practices and processes to drive global efficiency in how the Snyk communications team operates.
  • Hiring and managing international agency partners to support PR activities.
  • Successfully managing complex, fast-moving, and unexpected communications challenges, both proactively and reactively.
  • Ensuring press releases, bylines, and other thought leadership content are optimized for key regions, including translation where necessary.
  • Working with agency partners to track and report key metrics on a quarterly basis.
  • Executing well-defined tasks and troubleshooting problems with minimal involvement from the manager.
  • Understanding the team's role in the company's business outcomes.
  • Having a command of Marketing processes and principles, which can be communicated to other teams.

What You’ll Need:

  • Bachelor’s degree (concentration in Communications or related field preferred).
  • 5+ years of experience in an in-house corporate communications or agency environment, including direct support of fast-growing technology companies.
  • Proven experience in building strong relationships and closely partnering with key internal stakeholders; collaborating with social, internal communications, and regional teams to further amplify company news and priority thought leadership content globally.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong team management abilities.
  • Proven ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Understanding how to communicate complex challenges to their manager.
  • Taking ownership of their programs and results and always being curious to evolve.
  • Collaborating effectively with peers, taking a solutions-oriented approach when challenges arise.
  • Taking feedback from peers and manager, responding quickly to evolve.

We’d be Lucky if You:

  • Have experience at a global cybersecurity company.
  • Have experience with innovative storytelling across both traditional and new channels.
  • Bring a solutions-oriented approach to challenges.
  • Have a proactive attitude towards identifying and securing media coverage.
  • Demonstrate strong abilities in managing and optimizing content for different regions.
  • Show a track record of successfully managing international agency partners.
  • Possess the ability to quickly adapt to feedback and continuously improve.
