Brendan Ferguson

Brendan is a Director in the Consulting team at Social Ventures Australia (SVA). He is based in Darwin and is the primary contact for the work across the NT and SA.

Brendan has led SVA clients through strategic planning, outcomes management, organizational review and evaluation processes, and supporting Government and social purpose organizations to improve their impact and sustainability.

During his eight years at SVA, Brendan has developed specific knowledge in relation to the drivers of better outcomes for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. Brendan is particularly interested in understanding how to work in place, and coordinating the system of First Australian community-controlled organizations, peak bodies, corporations, and government departments and agencies to develop tailored solutions that will achieve better outcomes for community members. Brendan has worked closely with Aboriginal-owned organizations including Ngarrariyal Aboriginal Corporation, Karnyirninpa Jukurrpa (KJ), the Kimberley, Central and Anindilyakwa Land Councils, the National Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Legal Services (NATSILS) and the Victorian Aboriginal Child Care Agency (VACCA). He has also worked extensively with government departments and agencies, including Indigenous Business Australia (IBA) and the National Indigenous Australians Agency (NIAA), for whom he has led eight separate engagements.
