Laura Porter Cmp

Laura Porter, CMP has a diverse work experience in the field of education and event management. Laura currently holds the position of Assistant Director of Education at the Society for Cardiovascular Angiography & Interventions, where they are responsible for managing a million-dollar education projects portfolio and ensuring compliance with educational standards. Prior to this, Laura worked as a Senior Manager for Education at the same organization, where they handled various responsibilities such as budgeting, vendor coordination, faculty coordination, and developing educational materials.

Before joining the Society for Cardiovascular Angiography & Interventions, Laura served as the Manager of Scientific Meetings at The Obesity Society, where they led the development of on-demand educational products and handled meeting design for their annual board review course. Laura also worked with subject matter experts to design education programs for the largest conference on obesity.

Laura's experience also includes working as a Meeting Coordinator at the American Nurses Association, where they managed event planning and production for over 75 meetings annually. Additionally, they secured and managed a housing inventory worth over $4 million for the largest international nursing conference.

At the American Nurses Credentialing Center, Laura worked as a Products and Services Coordinator, producing webinars and implementing an online Attendee Service Center to improve participant and vendor communication. Laura was also responsible for building learning infrastructure using various platforms.

Earlier in their career, Laura served as an Education and Exhibit Coordinator at The Texas Association for Home Care & Hospice, where they secured sponsorships, managed conference production, and developed marketing materials.

Laura Porter, CMP possesses a strong background in education, event management, and vendor coordination across multiple organizations in the healthcare industry.

Laura Porter, CMP completed their Bachelor of Arts degree from Centenary College of Louisiana between 2001 and 2005. Laura obtained their Certified Meeting Professional (CMP) certification from the Events Industry Council in January 2018.
