Job description

This role is responsible for establishing and growing accounts with distributors of medical devices in the Philippines/Thailand/Vietnam. This is both a building and hands-on account management role. The individual must thrive in two key ways: first as a business developer with responsibility for identifying and originating significant new business with  distributors of medical devices, targeting both private and public hospitals, and other related customer groups and channels. This business should result in sales of private label or branded products. Second, as these accounts grow in volume, the Sales Manager must expand touch points and build opportunities with more products, categories, or geographic markets.

The Sales Manager will establish and own customer account plans and budgets, working closely with marketing and category management teams to formulate pricing, product, and distribution strategy. He will work closely with teams in customer support, logistics, sourcing, and QA/RA.

The prior clinical experience would be a great asset for this position.

Essential experience:

  • At least 10 years of experience in medical device industry, especially in medication delivery technologies such as injection, infusion and other healthcare disposables.

    • Product knowledge: present clearly the features and benefits of the technologies to potential customers and distributors
    • Understanding of the value chain in healthcare industry

  • Negotiation skills

  • Self-starter and self-motivator capable to work independently.  No issue with being hands-on and making things happen.

  • Balanced strategic and tactical perspective on business

Academic & Formal Qualifications:

  • University degree.

  • Master/MBA or equivalent program with focus on Sales & Marketing management.

Desirable qualifications:

Strategic

  • Market research with fundamental understanding of the healthcare markets, forces, dynamics, and drivers
  • Monitor competitive activity, market trends and evolution.
  • Identify new business opportunities and partnerships to grow the business and expand the company’s presence in the region.
  • Formulation of a short-term business plan and also a strategic 5-year plan

Tactical

  • Develop and implement sales strategies to achieve revenue targets: lead generation, prospecting, and customer relationship management.

  • Basic understanding of principles of forecasting and sales tracking and monitoring

  • Knowledge about budgeting process and annual operations planning

  • Ethics and business integrity
