Laura Miranda Peña

Laura Miranda Peña has a strong background in project management and engineering. Laura currently works at Soltec Development as a Project Development Manager, where they are responsible for various tasks related to large-scale photovoltaic project development in Colombia. Prior to this role, they held the position of Project Development Engineer at the same company. In this role, they were involved in energy yield assessments, studying electrical grid substations, and handling documentation processing.

Before joining Soltec Development, Laura worked at Servicios Geologicos Integrados S.A.S as a Project Manager. Laura was responsible for conceptualizing the scope of shared value projects and overseeing their planning, execution, and monitoring.

Additionally, Laura worked at Weatherford as a Wireline Senior Field Engineer. During their time there, they coordinated and implemented cased hole services, conducted electrical logs and perforating for wells of different orientations, and supervised staff during field work. Laura also played a role in the preventive maintenance of equipment and tools. Laura held this role at Weatherford from 2011 to 2016 and then again from 2017 to 2018.

Laura Miranda Peña completed their Grado en Ingeniería Electrónica at Escuela Colombiana de Ingeniería Julio Garavito from 2004 to 2009. In 2018 and 2019, they pursued a Master's degree in Energías Renovables y sostenibilidad energética at Universitat de Barcelona. In 2022, they completed a Diplomado en Ciencia de Datos at Universidad Nacional de Colombia.

In addition to their formal education, Laura Miranda Peña obtained various certifications. In 2020, they completed a course on Desarrollo de aplicaciones en Excel con Macros y Visual Basic at Universidad Nacional de Colombia and became an Auditor interno en ISO 50001:2018 Sistema de Gestión Energética y auditorias energéticas ISO 50002:2014 through SGS. In 2021, they obtained certifications in Derecho de Energías Renovables from Universidad de los Andes - Colombia, Curso tecnologías del Hidrógeno from Ingeoexpert, and Generación y comercialización de energía en el Mercado de Energía Mayorista from ANDESCO. Further, in 2022, they obtained an IELTS Academic certification from IELTS Official and became an Energy Transformation Expert through Renewables Academy (RENAC).
