Michele Vece

Michele Vece has over 8 years of work experience in various roles related to engineering and education.

From September 2021, they have been working as a Structural Civil Engineer at Soltec, where they analyze and checks reports for the development of photovoltaic plants and provides technical support for project development and construction in Italy.

Prior to that, from June 2018, they worked at a Private Engineering Firm as a Structural Civil Engineer, where they were involved in design, construction management, building practices, cadastral surveys, and energy performance certifications.

Michele also served as a Lecturer in Mathematics at a Professional High School from January 2019 to July 2021.

Earlier in their career, from June 2017 to December 2018, they worked as a Project Engineer at R2M Solution, where they developed and coordinated European projects related to the H2020 program.

From December 2016 to May 2017, they were a Project Engineer at RINA, where they focused on project proposals in innovation and research fields funded by the European Union.

Michele also has experience as an Assistant Professor at both the University of Pavia and the University of Catania from November 2013 to December 2016.

Additionally, they worked as a Senior Engineer at Promec Engineering Srl in July 2016, where they were responsible for CAD design of industrial furnaces, structures, and special equipment for thermo-chemical treatments.

Michele Vece holds a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree in Civil and Architectural Engineering from Università di Pavia. Michele completed their PhD from 2013 to 2016. In 2016, they also had a visiting PhD candidate experience at Newcastle University. Michele had another visiting PhD candidate experience in 2015 at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. Prior to their PhD, Michele obtained an MSc degree in Civil Engineering from Università di Pavia from 2010 to 2013, and a Bachelor degree in Civil Engineering from the same institution from 2007 to 2010. Michele completed their high school education at Liceo Classico N. Zingarelli and received a diploma in Classics from 2002 to 2007. In addition to their degrees, Michele Vece obtained several certifications, including the "Abilitazione alla Professione di Ingegnere" from Università degli Studi di Pavia in July 2013, the "Abilitazione a Istruttore di Volo (FI) per APR" and "Abilitazione alle Operazioni Critiche (CRO) con APR" from ENAC in April 2018 and February 2018 respectively, the "Attestato di Pilota APR (Aeromobili a Pilotaggio Remoto)" from ENAC in June 2017, and the "Op. Termografico II Livello - UNI EN ISO 9712, II-C" from DEKRA Testing and Certification, S.A.U. in March 2019.
