Amy Smitherman

Amy Smitherman has a strong background in finance and administration, with experience as a Chief Financial Officer, Director of Finance, and Director of Finance and Administration. Amy has worked for various organizations, including South Bronx Overall Economic Development Corporation, Pro Bono Resource Center of Maryland, IAVI, East Side House Settlement, The Volcker Alliance, Homes for the Homeless, International Trachoma Initiative, OPERA America, Cooper-Hewitt National Design Museum, and Location One. Amy's responsibilities have included managing financial operations, overseeing procurement and vendor agreements, implementing new financial systems, and leading accounting operations. Amy has also been involved in risk management, compliance, and IT management. Amy'sachievements include improving internal controls, strengthening staff morale, and securing funding for organizations.

Amy Smitherman received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Business and Art History from The University of Alabama in 1993. Amy then pursued a Master of Fine Arts degree in Theatre Management from Yale University, graduating in 2003. In 2017, they completed an Executive Certificate in Non-Profit Management from Georgetown University.
