AVP, Community Development at SOUTH BRONX OVERALL ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT CORPORATION

Anthony comes to SoBro with over 20 years of experience in Government, Non-Profit and private sector leadership. Bronx born and breed, Anthony has a passion for service, an eye for community engagement, strategic visioning, and planning. Before coming to SoBro, Anthony served as the President and CEO of Saint Benedict the Moor Neighborhood Center, Inc. a national award-winning social- human services organization where he led a team to reverse the blight of homelessness, hunger, and underemployment throughout NYC.

While leading this organization, he discovered his passion for housing development, and founded ‘The Moor House Gardens Housing Development Fund Corporation, a low-income housing development and management organization located in The Bronx. He also founded The Moor House Youth and Community Development Center, Inc. a local multifaceted organization –specializing in homeless prevention, housing, youth, economic and community development.

Most recently Anthony served as a Senior Advisor, and then District Chief of Staff/ District Director for U.S. House of Representatives- Appropriations Sub-Committee Chairman- Rep. Jose E. Serrano (Ret.) –NY/15. Where he was responsible for overseeing the administrative and operations functions of the office. He also oversaw the development and implementation of the Congressional District’s – federal policy, outreach and legislative strategy, in addition to insuring the delivery of federal resources and services for over 750,000 constituents daily. Anthony is a Trustee at the New York City Montessori Charter School in the Bronx.

He's most proud of his accomplishments as a dad to his daughter Mya-Lee. Anthony brings his passion, his network, and his desire to create positive change in communities SoBro serves, and is currently on track to securing his Master’s degree in Public Administration.
