Laura Gosney

Press Manager (visual Arts) at Southbank Centre

Laura Gosney has a diverse work experience in the arts and culture industry. Laura began their career as a Marketing, Press, and PR Intern at DATEAGLE ART in 2018. Laura then worked at UCL as a Marketing Consultant, collaborating on a campaign for a charity start-up. In 2019, they joined DATEAGLE ART again, this time as a Writer, conducting interviews with emerging London-based artists. Laura also worked as a Junior Press Officer at Phaidon, developing publicity campaigns for various books across different genres. Additionally, they held roles at Enclave Projects, Affordable Art Fair, and Kentish Town City Farm. Laura worked as an Exhibition Invigilator and Fair Assistant, respectively. At Kentish Town City Farm, they conducted research and created a report on improving the farm's event program. Laura also had a brief stint as a Project Researcher focusing on arts, nature, and wellbeing. In 2018, they gained experience as a Gallery Assistant at the Victoria and Albert Museum. Most recently, they worked at Serpentine as a Press Officer, responsible for planning and implementing publicity campaigns for exhibitions, public art, architecture, and various events. Laura played a key role in designing and coordinating communication strategies for audience development, social media, and marketing. Currently, they hold the position of Press Manager (Visual Arts) at Southbank Centre.

Laura Gosney attended Gillingham Comprehensive School and Sixth Form in Dorset, where they completed their A Levels in Mathematics, Fine Art, and French, earning top grades in all subjects. Laura then went on to study at UCL from 2015 to 2019, pursuing a degree in Arts and Sciences, BASc. Additionally, Laura participated in an Exchange Programme at Sciences Po from 2017 to 2018, focusing on the History of Art and French.
