Spencer Ferguson has a diverse work experience in the medical field. Spencer currently works as a Medical Laboratory Scientist at SouthEast Alaska Regional Health Consortium (SEARHC) since January 2023. Prior to this, Spencer worked at LifeNet Health, where they held multiple roles. From March 2020 to December 2022, they served as a QC Laboratory Supervisor. From May 2018 to March 2020, they were a Laboratory Technologist, Team Leader. From January 2013 to May 2018, they worked as a Laboratory Technologist, responsible for performing routine and STAT serology testing for organ and tissue donors, among other tasks. Before this, Spencer worked at Emergency Physicians of Tidewater as a Physician's Documentation Assistant from August 2008 to April 2013, where they recorded patient history, reviewed symptoms, and trained new employees.
Spencer Ferguson completed a Master's degree in Medical Laboratory Science Leadership at the University of Cincinnati in 2022. Prior to that, from 2007 to 2012, Spencer earned a Bachelor's Degree in Clinical Laboratory Science/Medical Technology/Technologist from Old Dominion University. Alongside their education, Spencer has additional certifications, including being a Certified Tissue Bank Specialist from the American Association of Tissue Banks and a Medical Laboratory Scientist from the American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP).
