Jo (Joanne) Fair has a diverse and extensive work experience spanning over several industries and roles.

Jo (Joanne) currently holds the position of Chief of People & Culture at Southern Cross Healthcare since February 2023. Jo (Joanne) is responsible for overseeing the organization's human resources and culture-related functions.

Jo has worked in various leadership positions at Fonterra, a global dairy nutrition company. Jo (Joanne) served as the Managing Director of Fonterra Brands NZ Ltd, overseeing their FMCG business and leading approximately 1500 employees. Jo (Joanne) also held the role of Group MD People (CHRO), where they were responsible for the company's global people strategy. In addition, they served as the Regional Director for Fonterra Ingredients South and East Asia and had full P&L accountability for the business in 16+ markets. Jo also had the role of Global Account Director, managing Fonterra's largest customer in over 40 markets.

Prior to Fonterra, Jo worked as the Head of Organization Development at Bank of New Zealand from July 2006 to February 2008.

Jo's career started in the aviation industry, specifically in Air New Zealand. Jo (Joanne) held various HR roles, including HR Manager for Domestic Pilots & Cabin Crew/Sales & Distribution at Ansett Australia, HR Manager at the National Airline, and HR Advisor in the Domestic Airline Group.

Jo (Joanne) Fair has an extensive education history. Jo (Joanne) attended The University of Auckland from 2020 to 2026, where they pursued a Master of Arts (MA) degree in International/Global Studies with a focus on MCTS (Mobile Cloud Technology Solutions). Prior to that, in 2001, they completed a Post Graduate Diploma in Business Studies at The University of Waikato, specializing in Business Administration and Management. Jo also obtained a Bachelor's Degree in Law from The University of Auckland from 1992 to 1996. During the same period, they also earned another Bachelor's Degree from the same university, majoring in Spanish Language & Literature.

In addition to their formal education, Jo has acquired various certifications throughout their career. In 2014, they became a Graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors (GAICD). In 2005, they completed a Certificate in Business Systems and a Certificate in Marketing from Henley Business School. Jo also obtained an Accredited Facilitator designation in Managing Motives for Performance Improvement from Korn Ferry in 2003. Prior to that, in 1999, they received the Professionals - Admitted to the Bar qualification from the Institute of Professional Legal Studies. Furthermore, Jo completed an ATCL Teaching Diploma in Speech and Drama from Trinity College London in 1992.

Jo also engaged in a range of executive programs and memberships. In 2019, they completed the Te Ara Reo Māori program from Te Wānanga o Aotearoa. Jo (Joanne) participated in the Executive Programme at Singularity University in 2017 and became a member of Global Women in the same year. Additionally, they completed the Advanced Human Resource Executive Programme at the University of Michigan - Stephen M. Ross School of Business in 2012 and attended the Executive Programme at the Institute for Strategic Leadership in 2007.
