High School Ministry Leader

The High School Ministry Leader leads the High School Ministry at Southland’s Nicholasville Campus. Team leadership is an important part of this position leading local student staff and as the point leader for the volunteer team. The High School Ministry Leader casts vision and direction for the High School ministry at the Nicholasville campus while aligning with the overall vision, direction, and strategy of Southland’s Student Ministry at all campuses.

Primary Responsibilities Include:

Lead High School Ministry at the Nicholasville Campus:

• Serve as the primary teacher for weekly High School services
• Represent the needs of the Nicholasville High School Ministry to the Student Ministry Leader and Student Ministry Team
• Communicate the vision, direction and strategy of Southland Students to the rest of the Nicholasville High School Staff and related volunteer teams
• Regularly communicate with parents at the Nicholasville Campus
• Plan and develop other campus-specific ministry strategies and events
• Collaborate with the Students Creative Leader to help execute the service plan with excellence and intentionality
• Collaborate with Nicholasville High School staff to develop effective student small groups
• Supervise the Nicholasville High School Staff
• Build and lead a High School Student Leadership Team with assistance from the Nicholasville High School Staff
• Ensure partnerships with local schools and organizations that impact the lives of Nicholasville Campus High School Students
• Collaborate with the Nicholasville Middle School Team to develop a cohesive overall Student Ministry at the Nicholasville Campus

Serve on the Southland Students Team:

• Collaborate with the Central Student Team to develop a comprehensive strategy to reach Students at all of Southland’s campuses
• Participate in teaching/content development
• Research current trends and practices in student ministry and youth culture
• Specific duties assigned by the Student Ministry Leader
• Participate in yearly Student Ministry trips and events including: Summer Camps, Mid-Year Student Retreats and Other Events

Participate in the life and ministry of the Nicholasville Campus and Southland at large:

• Serve at local campus events and weekly worship services
• Serve and support, as needed, central church events such as conferences and outreach initiatives

Build and maintain strong relationships with the Nicholasville Campus Leader and all Nicholasville Campus Ministry Leads:

• Attend meetings as needed
• Foster consistent communication
• Other Duties as Assigned
