Neil Parkinson

Senior Artist / Animator at Space Ape Games

Neil Parkinson has a diverse work experience in the animation industry. Neil started their career as an Assistant Animator at Varga TVC and Bermuda Shorts in 1997, where they worked on various projects including pop promos. Neil then moved on to Telemagination as an Assistant Animator, primarily working on the TV series "Noah's Island" and pop promos. In 1998, they joined Acclaim Studios Teeside as an Animator, where they worked until 2000. During this time, they gained experience in in-betweening and clean up work.

In 2000, Neil joined Artworld UK as an Animator, where they worked on a range of tasks including animation, modelling, texturing, storyboarding, and character design. Neil also had the opportunity to work with clients such as Lego.

Neil then joined Criterion Games in 2005 as a Lead Animator, where they worked until 2007. Following this, they joined EA in 2001 as a Lead/Senior Animator. At EA, they worked on various projects such as the Harry Potter game series, contributing to in-game animation and cut scenes. Neil also took on the role of Lead Animator for the game "Black" on PS2.

In 2011, Neil joined NaturalMotion as an Animator, before joining Supermassive Games Ltd in 2012 as a Senior Animator. At Supermassive Games Ltd, they worked on animation projects until 2014.

Since 2015, Neil has been working as a Senior Artist/Animator at Space Ape Games. Overall, their work experience spans over two decades, showcasing their expertise in animation and their versatility in various roles within the industry.

Neil Parkinson attended The Manchester Metropolitan University from 1992 to 1993, where they completed a Foundation degree in Graphic Design. From 1993 to 1996, they studied at Staffordshire University and obtained a BA Hons degree in Graphic Design with a specialization in Animation. Subsequently, in 1997 to 1998, they enrolled in the British Animation Training Scheme at MOMI, focusing on Animation.
