Anita Scribner spent her childhood in Wills Point, Texas, aside from one year in northern Italy as a foreign exchange student. She attended the University of Texas and received a BA in Anthropology and a Masters in Public Health from University of Texas Health Science Center - Houston. Anita completed her Medical Degree at University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio and went to Indiana University Medical Center in Indianapolis for Internal Medicine residency, followed by University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center for her fellowship in Infectious Diseases.
Anita joined Diagnostic Clinic of Longview in 1999 and has served continuously as an infectious diseases consultant at both Longview Regional Medical Center and Good Shepherd. She holds board certifications in both Internal Medicine and Infectious Diseases. She has been a physician at Special Health Resources since 2002 and now serves as Chief Medical Officer.
Anita married Ray Scribner in 1987 and they have seven children. Her hobbies include traveling, hiking, and bicycling. She has been a volunteer with Diakonia Compassionate Ministries in Kisumu, Kenya since 2005.
