Al Stammers

Al Stammers, MSA, CCP (Emeritus) has a strong background in the medical field, with significant experience in research, perfusion services, and clinical quality and outcomes. Al most recently held the position of Vice President of Clinical Quality and Outcomes Research at SpecialtyCare. Prior to that, they worked as a Perfusionist at Pocono Medical Center for three years. Al also served as the Director of Perfusion Services at Geisinger Health Systems for ten years. Al has teaching experience as an Associate Professor at the University of Nebraska Medical Center and as an Instructor at the Medical University of South Carolina. Al began their career as a Staff Perfusionist at the University of Michigan Health System and worked as a Research Assistant at SUNY Upstate Medical University.

Al began their academic journey at SUNY Farmingdale, where they earned an Associate of Applied Science (AAS) degree in Agriculture, General from 1977 to 1979. Continuing their studies, they attended Cornell University from 1979 to 1981, where they obtained a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree, though the field of study was not specified. With a growing interest in the healthcare industry, they enrolled at Upstate Medical Center and completed an Associate of Arts and Sciences (AAS) degree in Perfusion Technology/Perfusionist from 1985 to 1987. Later, in 1992-1993, they further expanded their qualifications by pursuing a Master of Science in Administration (MSA) with a specialization in Health Care Management at Central Michigan University.
