Erica Smith has a diverse work experience in the biotechnology and pharmaceutical industries. At Pfizer, they led drug discovery teams and developed preclinical strategies for various therapeutic areas.

Erica Smith obtained a Bachelor of Science in Biomedical Engineering (BSE) from Duke University, where they studied from 1990 to 1994. Erica continued their education at the University of Michigan, where they pursued multiple degrees. From 1994 to 1997, they completed a Master of Science (MS) in Mechanical Engineering, as well as a Master of Science (MS) in Bioengineering and Biomedical Engineering. Erica's educational journey concluded with a PhD in Biomedical Engineering, which they earned from the University of Michigan from 1994 to 2001.
