Nadia Vattovaz

Nadia Vattovaz, CPA, C.Dir., GCB.D has a diverse and extensive work experience in various leadership roles. Nadia currently serves as the Corporate Director & Audit Committee Chair at Decibel Cannabis Company. Prior to that, they held the position of CFO & Head of Logistics at Sporting Life Group, where they managed two well-known brands, Golf Town and Sporting Life.

Before their current roles, Vattovaz was the Chief Operating Officer, CFO & EVP Operations, and Chief Financial Officer at Fire & Flower, a cannabis retail company. Nadia also worked as the Vice President of Finance and Procurement at Holt Renfrew and held various financial roles at Canadian Tire, including Vice President Finance, Shared Services & Systems.

Additionally, Vattovaz has experience as the Vice President Finance and Administration at Bento Sushi, where they played a pivotal role in turning the company around and ensuring its profitability. Nadia also worked as the Senior Director of Corporate Finance at Maple Leaf Foods Inc.

Earlier in their career, Vattovaz served as a strategic and financial consultant as a sole proprietor. Nadia also worked as the Vice President of Finance and Administration at Workopolis and as the CFO at Azcar Technologies Inc., where they were responsible for implementing a restructuring and integration plan.

Nadia Vattovaz, CPA, C.Dir., GCB.D, obtained a Graduate Diploma in Public Accountancy from McGill University in 1993. Prior to that, they completed their Bachelor of Arts in English Literature with a minor in Business from Western University in 1990. In terms of additional certifications, they became a Chartered Accountant from the Ontario Institute of Chartered Accountants in 1995 and later achieved the status of Chartered Professional Accountant from the Canadian Institute of Chartered Accountants in 2013. Furthermore, they received a C.Dir (Corporate Director) designation from the DeGroote School of Business - McMaster University in 2022, and they are currently pursuing a GCB.D (ESG Designation) from Competent Boards, with an expected completion year in 2023.
