Phil Spencer

Phil Spencer has more than two decades of experience in the healthcare industry, and has held multiple senior leadership positions with fast-growing, patient-centric organizations.

Prior to joining Springstone, Phil was the Senior Vice President of Business Development for Tenet Healthcare, responsible for driving organic growth across the enterprise’s 500 access points nationwide. He also led ambulatory services and business development at United Surgical Partners International (USPI), where he oversaw repeated top-line growth, managed care negotiations, and led strategic improvements in support of all USPI markets. In addition to USPI, Phil has held senior leadership roles in other Welsh, Carson, Anderson and Stowe (WCAS) portfolio companies, delivering value for patients, employees and shareholders.

Phil earned his bachelor’s degree from the University of Arizona, where he graduated Phi Beta Kappa and Magna Cum Laude, and obtained his master of business administration degree from the University of Dallas. He also served as a Captain in the U.S. Army.
