Simon Cowling

Simon Cowling has a diverse work experience in various industries. Simon started their career as an Industrial Trainee at Toyota Motor Manufacturing UK in 2001. Simon then worked as a Project Manager at MOUCHEL plc. from 2005 to 2010, where they managed projects for National Grid and other clients. Simon joined Rhead Group in 2010 as a Project Engineer.

In 2012, Simon joined National Grid, where they held various roles including Design Manager, Project Delivery Manager, and Strategic Development Manager. Simon was responsible for delivering non load-related and asset health projects across the National Transmission System.

Simon then moved to SSE Enterprise Energy Solutions in 2020 as the Head of Engineering Solutions. In this role, they led the engineering resource to deliver the Distributed Energy ambition, including design development and construction support for projects in various sectors.

Currently, Simon works as the Director of Operations at SSE Energy Solutions, starting in 2023.

Simon Cowling attended Reading Blue Coat School from 1992 to 1999. After completing their education at Reading Blue Coat School, they pursued a Master of Engineering (MEng) degree in Mechanical Engineering from Loughborough University. Simon attended Loughborough University from 1999 to 2004.
