Martin Forde

Assistant Dean of Research at St. George's University

Dr. Martin Forde was named assistant dean of research at St. George’s University School of Medicine in August 2021. In addition, he is a full professor and track director of the Environmental and Occupational Health track within the Department of Public Health and Preventive Medicine (DPHPM), which serves as host for a World Health Organization (WHO) Collaborating Center in Environmental and Occupational Health. Dr. Forde serves as its senior researcher, assisting in the center’s mission to work with both local and regional Caribbean countries to address environmental and occupational issues.

Since joining SGU in 2000, Dr. Forde has served in multiple administrative and teaching capacities. He currently serves as an at-large board member on the Association of Schools and Programs of Public Health (ASPPH) board and as the department’s MPH program primary representative. He also serves as a research fellow at the Windward Islands Research and Education Foundation (WINDREF). Dr. Forde’s main teaching and research activities have been focused on environmental health management issues, occupational health, ergonomics, industrial hygiene, and the ethics of global population health research.
