Geoff Powell

Head of Learning Institute at St Hilda's School, Gold Coast

Geoff Powell is the current head of the Learning Institute at St Hilda's School on the Gold Coast. Geoff has been in education for over 20 years, with their previous positions including Director of Learning Technology and Director of Academic Computing. Geoff has been instrumental in introducing new technology to schools, including Blackboard LMS and 1:1 laptops. Geoff has also participated in various teaching exchange programs, including a fellowship to Deerfield Academy in the US and a 12-month secondment to the Turtle Island School in Fiji.

Geoff Powell has a Master's Degree in Education - Computing from Monash University, a Grad. Cert in Theology/Theological Studies from Charles Sturt University, a Graduate Diploma in Information Technology from the University of Melbourne, and a Bachelor's Degree in B.Ed (Arts) from Melbourne State College.

Geoff Powell reports to Wendy Lauman, Principal. They are on a team with Jodie Woodall - Dean of Data Analytics & Student Performance, Sheri Upasiri - Head of Students, Research & Engagement, and Melissa Wilkins - Deputy Head of Junior School.
