Urshila Shah

Urshila Shah, Pharm.D. BCPS has a diverse work experience in the field of pharmacy. Urshila is currently serving as the President of NJSHP (New Jersey Society of Health System Pharmacists) since May 2023. Prior to this, they worked as the Executive Director of Pharmacy Services at St. Joseph's Health, where they led a team of 170 individuals.

From 2012 to 2021, Urshila worked at NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital in various roles, including Director Of Pharmacy Operations, Senior Process Improvement Lead, Clinical Pharmacy Manager, Pharmacy Operations Manager, and Pharmacist. In these positions, they were responsible for overseeing pharmacy operations, leading teams, implementing process improvements, managing budgets, and ensuring medication safety.

Before joining NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital, Urshila completed their Pharmacy Resident program at VA Western New York Healthcare System. During their residency, they gained extensive experience in providing patient care, conducting research projects, delivering educational lectures, and collaborating with healthcare teams.

Urshila Shah, Pharm.D. BCPS earned their Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree from the University of the Sciences in Philadelphia, where they studied pharmacy from 2005 to 2011. In addition to their degree, they have also obtained certifications such as Building Resilience and How to Manage Your Manager from LinkedIn in 2021. Furthermore, Urshila Shah obtained their Board Certification in Pharmacotherapy from the Board of Pharmacy Specialties in 2014.
