Claire Brookes

As Director of Recruitment, Claire is responsible for the recruitment of students, both home and overseas, to St Mary’s. Claire leads the strategy for student recruitment including all associated marketing communications, recruitment activities and the important work undertaken with their feeder schools and colleges, in addition to setting the direction for both the UK Recruitment and International teams.

Claire has 23 years’ experience in higher education, mainly in marketing, recruitment and international roles and joined St Mary’s in 2019, originally as a consultant reporting to the PVC Global Engagement, before taking on the role of Director of Recruitment.

Claire worked at the University of Portsmouth from 1997 for several years in a variety of posts including Head of Corporate Communications and International Director. From 2015, prior to working for St Mary’s, Claire worked with a number of other providers in consultancy and interim appointments including University of Salford, Brunel University, Navitas and University of Sussex.
