Sophie Desimpel

Sophie Desimpel is a seasoned professional with extensive experience in language policy, education, and multicultural integration. Currently serving as the Coordinator of Language Policy and Language Promotion at the City of Ghent since February 2020, Sophie has previously worked as a language consultant and teacher, primarily focusing on Dutch as a foreign language for newcomers in Belgium. Educationally, Sophie holds a Master's degree in Multilingual Communication from Ghent University and a postgraduate degree in Intercultural Work and Coaching. Additional experience includes roles in marketing, HR, and communication within various organizations, showcasing a strong commitment to promoting cultural values and social integration.
