Alex Coultrup

Alex Coultrup has a diverse range of work experience in the space industry. Alex has held roles at companies such as Starfish Space, HI-SEAS, Nanoracks LLC, Mars Desert Research Station, and XPRIZE. Alex'sroles have included serving as a Director and Manager in the field of LEO Business and Policy, an Analog Astronaut on simulated lunar surface missions, and a Business Development professional focused on space systems. Alex has also been involved in campaign management, research, and internships related to aerospace security and space policy. Alex has demonstrated expertise in multidisciplinary team management, government affairs, and human factors research.

Alex Coultrup holds a Master of Science degree in Spaceflight Human Factors from the Florida Institute of Technology, which was obtained from 2018 to 2019. In 2019, they also completed a Graduate Certificate in Global Commercial Space Programs from the International Space University. They obtained a Verified Certificate in Aerospace, Aeronautical and Astronautical/Space Engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in the same year. Additionally, Alex attended the Beijing Institute of Technology in 2018 for a cultural exchange program focused on space exploration. They have an executive education certification in Understanding Space Security from the CSIS Aerospace Security Professional Development Course, completed in 2019. In 2017 to 2019, Alex obtained a Student Pilot's License in Aviation - Flight Training from Melbourne Flight Training. They previously earned a Bachelor's Degree in Communication with an emphasis on Technical Writing from the Florida Institute of Technology from 2014 to 2016. Before that, they obtained an Associate's Degree in Liberal Arts and Sciences/Liberal Studies with a program focus on Aviation Studies from Orange Coast College between 2012 and 2014. Alex has additional certifications in Introduction to Aerospace Engineering: Astronautics and Human Spaceflight from MITx on edX and Adult First Aid/CPR/AED from the American Red Cross obtained in 2019 and 2021 respectively.
