Swami Sundaramurthy

Swami Sundaramurthy is the current Head of Engineering at StarTree. Prior to joining StarTree, Sundaramurthy served as the Director of Engineering at Salesforce from January 2018 to August 2021. In this role, Sundaramurthy led 3 globally distributed engineering teams responsible for AI / ML services, workflow orchestration, and model management and experimentation for Salesforce Einstein. Under their leadership, the team was able to successfully execute Einstein's digital transformation from batch prediction to real-time system. In addition, Sundaramurthy was also responsible for securing the Einstein platform to ensure a safe infrastructure to process customer data without intermingling risk. Swami's efforts earned him the Intelligence Platform Award in 2019 and they were nominated for the Salesforce TMP All-Star Award in 2020.

Previously, Sundaramurthy served as an Engineering Manager at Pinterest from July 2014 to January 2018. In this role, they were responsible for leading a team of engineers and ensuring that projects were completed on time and within budget. Swami also oversaw the development of new features and products, as well as the maintenance of existing ones.

Prior to their time at Pinterest, Sundaramurthy served as a Sr. Principal Engineer & Architect at Yahoo! Inc. from April 2012 to June 2014. In this role, they were responsible for leading a team of engineers and architects in the development of new features and products for Yahoo!'s website and mobile applications. Swami also oversaw the maintenance of existing features and products, as well as the implementation of new technologies.

After completing a BE in Computer Science from Sri Jayachamrajendra College of Engineering, Swami Sundaramurthy pursued an MS in the same field from UC Santa Barbara.

They work with Peter Furia - Head of Video, Amol Mathur - Head of Platform Infra, and Avinash Nayak - VP of Marketing. Their manager is Kishore Gopalakrishna, Co-Founder & CEO.
