Kathryn Sweeney

Kat is a Senior Managing Director of State Street Global Advisors and Head of Institutional, Americas and is a member of the firm's Executive Management Group. In this role, Kat is responsible for leading the strategic direction of our institutional business in the Americas.

Prior to her current role, Kat was Head of SPDR Americas Institutional Sales, responsible for defining and leading the execution of the SPDR Americas Institutional Sales Strategy in the Americas, and works closely with the Americas Institutional Client Group (ICG) to drive ETF sales with asset owners. Prior to joining State Street Global Advisors, Kat spent 18 years at Goldman Sachs.

During her time at Goldman Sachs, she played a strategic role in building out their ETF business, first in London and then subsequently in New York. Kat held a variety of roles and most recently was Global Head of Distribution and Product Strategy for the Securities Division, working closely with ETF asset managers, institutional trading desks and internal stakeholders to increase ETF activity.

She is a well-known leader in the ETF business with a depth of knowledge ranging across trading, sales, distribution and product development. She frequently consults with ETF asset managers, works with exchanges on market structure, and speaks at industry events. Kat is also a prominent contributor to Women in ETFs.
