Rachel Porter

Rachel Porter has a diverse work experience in the horticulture industry. Rachel started their career as a Specialty Gardening Intern at Coastal Bloomers, where they performed landscaping and gardening tasks. Rachel then worked as a Floriculture Research Assistant at Clemson University, independently conducting research projects and maintaining greenhouse crops. Rachel also worked as a Greenhouse and Lab Assistant at Marble Branch Farms, where they assisted with greenhouse maintenance and performed lab duties related to orchid seed propagation.

Rachel further developed their skills as a Masters Candidate at North Carolina State University, conducting horticulture research focused on substrate science and hemp seed. Rachel later joined SunMed Growers as a Propagation Specialist, managing the propagation and maintenance of cannabis plants. Rachel then worked at Altman Plants as a Propagation Section Grower, overseeing a team and coordinating the production of plant plugs for wholesale clients.

Their most recent positions include being the Research and Development Manager and Director of Research and Development at StateHouse Holdings, where they lead research programs focused on improving cannabis production efficiency and quality.
