Wim de Villiers

Wim de Villiers is an esteemed academic leader currently serving as the Rector and Vice-Chancellor at Stellenbosch University since April 2015. Prior to this role, Wim held the position of Dean of the Faculty of Health Sciences at the University of Cape Town from July 2013 to March 2015. Wim's extensive experience in medical administration includes serving as Chief Administrative Officer at the University of Kentucky College of Medicine from 2011 to 2013 and Chief of the Division of Gastroenterology at the University of Kentucky from July 2002 to September 2011. Educational accomplishments include an MHCM in Health/Health Care Administration/Management from Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health, a Gastroenterology Fellowship from the University of Kentucky, a DPhil in Macrophage Immunology from the University of Oxford, and additional degrees in medical fields from the University of Cape Town and Stellenbosch University.
