The Role:

Stenn is looking for an experienced Financial Controller to join our team, reporting directly into our Global Head of Treasury and Accounting. In this position, you will play a pivotal role in scaling and managing the company's financial operations, as we scale towards IPO.

Your primary objective will be to ensure the accuracy, integrity, and compliance of financial reporting, which you will deliver through a world-class team of tax and accounting professionals, and a technology-first approach.

You will be responsible for our organisation’s financial health and integrity, ensuring best practices are in place for us to make data-driven decisions, through solid financial insights. To achieve this,you will need to have a strong understanding of multiple financial disciplines, including Payroll, Accounts Payable / Receivable,Accounting and Employee Equity to name a few.

Responsibilities:

  • Building out our existing global financial operations function; thinking ahead for scalability and IPO. 
  • Leading the global audit process, ensuring local statutory reporting and filing requirements are met. 
  • Creating and documenting business processes and accounting policies to maintain internal controls.
  • Presenting financial results to both internal and external stakeholders. 
  • Working with Senior Leaders and Executives to drive change impactful change.
  • Overseeing all day-to-day accounting operations, Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, General Ledger, Cost Accounting, Global Payroll, Employee Equity, Commission Payments and Revenue Recognition.
  • Working with our Total Rewards Lead on benefit and equity programmes, from design and build to company-wide roll out. 
  • Enhancing and preparing and publishing monthly reporting packs, to include consolidated P&L, balance sheet and cash flow.
  • s.Optimising and enhancing all operations and accounting systems.
  • Providing financial expertise to support strategic decision-making and business strategy.

Background/Experience:

To excel in this role, you should possess:

  • A bachelor's or master's degree in Accounting, Business, Economics, Finance, or a related field.
  • Professional qualifications such as ACA, ACCA, or CIMA.
  • Experience of taking a business from scale-up to IPO would be preferred. 
  • A proven record of succeeding in a global scale up with direct experience of international markets. Experience in the UK, US, China and India would be preferred.
  • Experience utilising technology to automate manual processes; increasing accuracy and efficiency.
  • Designing, implementing and reporting against key operational and governance OKRs.

  • Proficiency in financial software and systems, including implementing ERP systems such as SAP or Oracle, and advanced skills in Microsoft Excel for financial analysis.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills, demonstrative experience in effective team management, cross-departmental collaboration, and clear communication of financial information; particularly with the Senior Leaders and Executives.
  • Robust analytical and problem-solving abilities, facilitating the interpretation of financial data, identification of trends, and formulation of strategic recommendations.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, demonstrating the ability to connect and build relationships with clients, auditors,  leadership, and other counterparty relationships.
  • Proven experience in completing monthly and annual close process end-to-end and delivering management reports.
