Head of AI & Decision Science at Stenn

Peter Tegelaar has a diverse work experience spanning different industries and roles. Starting in 2008, they worked as a Machine Learning Engineer at Wakoopa for a few months. In 2009, they co-founded Newcope, a company focused on analytics and revenue management for virtual goods. Peter later pivoted the company to in-game auctions for virtual goods and secured funding from Y Combinator. Peter served as the CEO and co-founder of Newcope until 2010.

Following their entrepreneurial venture, Peter joined BIPB as an Advanced Analytics Consultant from 2010 to 2011. Peter then worked as a Quantitative Analyst at Deutsche Bank in 2011 and as a Senior Data Scientist at LiquidM DSP from 2012 to 2013. At LiquidM DSP, they led a team of Ph.D. data scientists working on a demand side platform in mobile advertising.

In 2013, Peter became a Mentor at The Founder Institute, and the following year, they joined Stenn Technologies for an unspecified role. From 2015 to 2016, they held the position of Chief Data Officer at Catawiki, where they reported directly to the CEO and led a team of 5 data scientists. Peter also played a key role in integrating machine learning throughout the lot curation process.

Moving on to Klarna in 2019, Peter took on the position of Global Head of Data Science. Peter scaled the Data Science Competence from 20 people in 2 offices to over 110 people in 8 offices across Europe and the US. The Data Science Competence was the highest-scoring competence in the company's annual Engagement Survey in 2022.

Most recently, in 2023, Peter joined Stenn Technologies as the Head of AI & Decision Science. The details of this role are not provided.

Peter Tegelaar has a diverse education history. Peter holds a Master of Science (M.Sc.) degree in Economics (cum laude) from the University of Amsterdam. Prior to that, they obtained a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) degree in Economics and Business from the University of Amsterdam - Amsterdam Business School. Peter participated in an exchange program at The University of Hong Kong's Business School. Additionally, Peter has a Bachelor of Laws (LLB) degree in Law and a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) degree in Mathematics, both from the University of Amsterdam.

Outside of traditional education, Peter also completed the YC W10 program at Y Combinator. Peter has obtained several certifications, including "Learning How to Learn" from Coursera in January 2015, "Linear and Integer Programming" from Coursera in December 2014, "Algorithms: Design and Analysis, Part 2" from Coursera in August 2014, "Algorithms: Design and Analysis, Part 1" from Coursera in June 2014, and "Machine Learning" from Coursera in October 2012.
