Al Friedman

Al Friedman has an extensive work experience in the banking and auditing industry. Al started their career as an Audit Manager at PwC, where they provided auditing services for banks and medium-sized organizations in the securities industry. Al also led merger and acquisition analysis and taught advanced securities seminar coursework.

After that, Al joined HSBC as an Audit Manager, where they were responsible for various audit areas and created the quality control report review function for the worldwide audit group. Al was also assigned to direct a bank-wide profitability systems project.

Currently, Al is the Chief Auditor/Senior Vice President at Sterling National Bank. Al successfully re-engineered the Internal Audit Department, implemented new audit programs and systems, and restructured the Audit Committee agenda and responsibilities.

Al Friedman began their education journey in 1968 at Brooklyn College, where they obtained a Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree in Psychology in 1972. In 1975, they went on to pursue a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree in Accounting at Baruch College, which they completed in 1979. Additionally, Al Friedman holds a CPA certification from the institution of New York, although the specific month and year of obtaining this certification are not provided.
