Pharm. D Ty Heuer

Ty Heuer, Pharm.D, MBA has extensive experience in the pharmaceutical industry. Ty is currently serving as the President of Sterling Specialty Pharmacy since February 2021. Prior to this role, they were the Vice President of Business Development and Strategy at the same company from December 2017 to February 2021.

Before joining Sterling Specialty Pharmacy, Ty worked at Therigy as a Senior Consultant from November 2016 to December 2017. In this role, they provided strategic guidance and operational support to hospital systems, independent pharmacies, and other partners in the development of clinical specialty pharmacy strategies.

From June 2007 to November 2016, Ty held various positions at CVS Health, including Senior Vice President. Ty played a key role in diversifying revenue streams by creating business plans and expanding product lines in home infusion and compounding.

Prior to CVS Health, Ty worked at Prime Therapeutics as a Director of Specialty Services in 2007. Ty developed and implemented a specialty pharmacy strategy for Blue Cross Blue Shield Plans and managed a service team. Ty also served as a Clinical Program Manager at Prime Therapeutics from 2005 to 2007, where they managed and implemented pharmacy programs for BCBSM.

Ty's career in the pharmaceutical industry started at Chronimed, where they held multiple roles from 2000 to 2005, including Lead Pharmacist and Staff Pharmacist. In addition to their clinical pharmacist duties, they were responsible for workflow management, scheduling, and performance management for pharmacy and call center personnel.

Overall, Ty Heuer brings a wealth of experience in pharmaceutical operations, strategic development, clinical specialty pharmacy, and P&L management to their current role at Sterling Specialty Pharmacy.

Ty Heuer earned their Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.) degree from the University of Minnesota College of Pharmacy between 1996 and 2000. Ty then pursued a Master of Business Administration (M.B.A.) degree in Medical Group Management at the University of St. Thomas from 2001 to 2003. Additionally, they hold various state pharmacist licenses, including those from Alabama, Arkansas, Minnesota, Iowa (previously held), and West Virginia, but the dates of obtaining these licenses are not provided. Ty is also currently in progress of obtaining a Six Sigma Lean Black Belt in Healthcare certification from the Management and Strategy Institute.
