Janne Parviainen

Janne Parviainen is a research associate at the Stockholm Environment Institute since January 2023 and a consultant researcher at the Asian Disaster Preparedness Center, focusing on community-based disaster risk reduction in East Asia and the Pacific. Previous experience includes consultancy roles with SEYN on renewable energy opportunities and challenges, as well as project management at Oxford Development Consultancy. Janne's background features positions at the Asian Disaster Preparedness Center and internships, alongside a notable early career start as an insurance agent. Janne holds a Master of Science in Social Anthropology from the University of Oxford and a Bachelor's degree in Crisis/Emergency/Disaster Management from Coventry University.
