Carl-Henrik Ljungqvist

Carl-Henrik Ljungqvist has extensive work experience in various roles within Stora Enso and Karlstad University. Carl-Henrik started their career in 1989 as a Kraft pulp plant Process operator at Stora Enso, where they operated continuous cooking and bleaching of Kraft pulp. In 1996, they joined Karlstad University as a Research Assistant, and later became a Doctoral Candidate from 1999 to 2004. Returning to Stora Enso, Ljungqvist held roles as an Utvecklingsingenjör (Development Engineer) from 2004 to 2009, Specialist from 2009 to 2015, and more recently as a Senior Project Manager from 2015 to 2021. Carl-Henrik currently serves as the Director of Circular Technology at Stora Enso, a position they started in September 2021.

Carl-Henrik Ljungqvist completed a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Chemical Engineering from Karlstad University in 2004. Carl-Henrik also obtained a Licentiate degree in Chemical Engineering from Chalmers University of Technology in 2002. In addition to their formal degrees, they pursued continuing education with various continuation courses in Chemistry and Chemical Engineering from Karlstad University from 1990 to 1999. Carl-Henrik was also a one-year Scholarship/Exchange Student at the University of Hull in 1988-1989, where they studied Biotechnology. Carl-Henrik Ljungqvist further expanded their knowledge through four individual PhD courses in Mechanical pulping: Unit processes, Bleaching, Refining Theory, and Control Strategies from FPIRC/FSCN at Mid University Sweden from 2011 to 2013. Carl-Henrik also received Project Manager training from Wenell Management AB in 2014 and Project Management Training from Synergy Group Europe SGE Ltd in 2015. Additionally, they hold several certifications, including a Board Certificate obtained in December 2023, a Prince2 Foundation certification obtained in 2021, an MSP® Foundation CPD certification obtained in 2021, a PMI Agile Certified Practitioner (PMI-ACP)® certification obtained in 2017, and a Project Management Professional (PMP)® certification obtained in 2016.
