Sean Wesenberg

Sean Wesenberg is the Director of Engineering at StormForge. Sean has held this position since October 2019. Prior to joining StormForge, Sean was the Director of Engineering at Optum from October 2019 to April 2022. In this role, Sean led teams that focused on driving new transformative software platforms that enable the enterprise to gain more intelligence, become more agile, and lower the cost of healthcare.

Sean started their career as a hands-on engineer building out a greenfield configuration data platform using nodejs, nosql, graphdb, kafka, kubernetes, deploying to a hybrid cloud model - on-prem / azure cloud. Sean then curated the vision, strategy and execution of the platform and grew the team from a few engineers into three highly skilled global product engineering teams. Sean's role also included collaboration with enterprise partners; information security, finance, compliance, operations and infrastructure, platform teams, legal, architecture and other partner teams.

In August 2018, Sean left Boston Scientific where they were a Sr Platform Engineer and took on the role of Sr Engineering Manager at Best Buy. Sean held this position until October 2019 when they joined StormForge as Director of Engineering.

Sean Wesenberg is currently enrolled as an undergraduate student at the University of Minnesota Duluth, where they are pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Information Systems and Technology.

Sean Wesenberg works with Thibaut Perol - VP of Engineering, John Platt - VP, Machine Learning, and Aaron Godin - Senior Software Engineer. Sean Wesenberg reports to Patrick Bergstrom, Chief Technology Officer.
