Jayalakshmi Nair

Scientist IV at Strand Life Sciences

Jayalakshmi Nair has a range of work experience in various scientific roles. Jayalakshmi started their career with GANIT Labs in 2011 as an intern, where they primarily worked on cloning experiments. Jayalakshmi then became a Research Associate at GANIT Labs, where they gained experience in next-generation sequencing, including both ABI's SOLiD and Illumina platforms. Jayalakshmi also worked on Illumina's microarray platform and performed nucleic acid isolation from animal and plant tissues. In 2016, Jayalakshmi joined MEDGENOME as a Research Associate, focusing on the preparation and validation of amplicon and targeted exome libraries for clinical samples. Jayalakshmi also contributed to standardization, protocol validation, and SOP preparation. Most recently, since 2017, they have been working at Strand Life Sciences in various roles. As a Scientist II, they planned and executed library preparation and sequencing runs of clinical samples, ensuring timely processing and quantification using qPCR. Jayalakshmi then advanced to Scientist IV, where they continued to contribute to internal validation and protocol optimization.

Jayalakshmi Nair has a diverse educational background in the field of biotechnology. In 2003-2005, they attended Atomic Energy Junior College where they completed their H.S.C degree with a focus on Biology, General. Following this, from 2005 to 2010, they pursued their M.Tech degree in Biotechnology at Padmashree Dr D. Y. Patil Vidyapeeth. Jayalakshmi'seducation continued in 2010-2011 at the Institute of Bioinformatics and Applied Biotechnology, where they obtained a Post-Graduate Diploma in Biotechniques.
