To further this mission, we’re looking for an experienced CRM technology specialist to join our global Growth Marketing team at Strava. As the Growth Marketing Specialist, Marketing Technology at Strava you will join a team of operational experts in developing, building, and optimizing wide-scale communications to our global athlete community. As the subject matter expert across our owned comms platforms, you will play a key role in orchestrating a seamless cross-channel experience through the use of email, push, in-app messaging and more. Your scope will be both narrow and broad – diving deep into our data and code base while keeping process efficiencies and output velocity top-of-mind. Ultimately, you will collaborate with and enable our cross-functional partners to transform ideas into reality, crafting a user comms experience that truly delights and inspires.

This is a hybrid role based in our New York or Dublin office.

You’re excited about this opportunity because you will:

  • Create Exciting User-Facing Communications
  • Develop eye-catching comms using your HTML and CSS skills.
  • Work cross-functionally to create highly targeted and personalized campaigns in our primary CRM platform, Iterable.
  • Maintain the highest level of comms quality and error-free launches.
  • Build and manage a database of scalable, easy-to-maintain comms templates.
  • QA emails, journeys, and data across our ESP.

Work with the Data:

  • Keep our comms fresh and fun with regular A/B testing to see what works best.
  • Utilize complex data to incorporate customization and personalization for our users.
  • Stay on top of industry trends and best practices to keep us ahead of the game.
  • Identify improvements that help scale our comms capacity through templates, scripting, and automation.

Collaborate and Communicate:

  • Work closely with cross- and inter-functional teams (Product, Design, etc.) to ensure our comms efforts align with company goals.
  • Keep stakeholders in the loop about campaign plans, progress, and performance in a clear and engaging way.
  • Identify process inefficiencies and proactively optimize them.
  • Own documentation related to data requirements, processes, and tech stack.

You will be successful here by:

  • Maintaining a Forward-Thinking Mindset: Understanding and adapting how we utilize our systems to anticipate challenges and breed long-term progress through automations and optimizations.
  • Prioritizing Collaborative Partnership: Emphasizing the importance of feedback loops and crafting a strong framework for the enablement of cross-functional teams.
  • Displaying Ownership & Proactivity: Taking initiative in our comms space to ensure that progress and outcomes are aligned with team needs.

We’re excited about you because:

  • You have 3-5 years of experience
  • You are an expert in HTML, CSS, Handlebars and MJML with a good understanding of comms functionality across devices and email providers.
  • You are experienced and knowledgeable about email development and inbox best practices, including dark mode, AMP, email weight, accessibility, and more.
  • You understand component-driven design systems.
  • You are confident in working with large data sets and SQL.
  • You have experience in an operational comms marketing role at a high performing marketing ops organization.
  • You are a self-starter with a strong sense of ownership and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
