Hailing Yu, Ph.D., P.E. has a diverse work experience spanning over several companies and roles. Starting in 1992, Yu worked as a Research Assistant at Northwestern Polytechnic University until 1995. From 1995 to 2000, Yu served as a Research Assistant and Teaching Assistant at The Johns Hopkins University. In 2000, Yu joined EG&G Technical Services as an Engineer and remained there until 2004. The next four years were spent at Chenega Advanced Solutions and Engineering, where Yu held positions as an Engineer and Senior Engineer. In 2009, Yu joined MacroSys Research and Technology LLC as a Senior Engineer, Professional Specialist, and Team Lead. Starting in 2010, Yu joined the U.S. DOT Volpe National Transportation Systems Center. Within this organization, Yu held various roles, including Mechanical Engineer, Civil Engineer, and Federal Laboratory Consortium Liaison and Representative. Since 2019, Yu has been working at STV as a Principal/Senior Engineer.

Hailing Yu, Ph.D., P.E. obtained a Bachelor's degree in Aircraft Structures and a Master's degree in Computational Mechanics from Northwestern Polytechnical University. Hailing then furthered their education at The Johns Hopkins University, where they earned a Master of Science degree in Engineering followed by a Ph.D. in Civil Engineering.
