Dr. Sina Schmal has a diverse range of work experience in marketing and academia. Dr. Sina began their career as a Marketing Consultant, working on consulting projects and performing business analysis for various companies. Dr. Sina also had roles as an Assistant to Managing Editor for a business and economics journal and as a Graduate Research and Teaching Assistant at The Philipp University of Marburg, where they focused on quantitative and qualitative analytics in the consumer electronics industry.

In their later roles, Dr. Schmal transitioned into digital marketing, working as an Online Marketing Specialist at The University of British Columbia and an Online Marketing Manager at Haufe Akademie GmbH & Co. KG. Dr. Sina managed and implemented online marketing strategies, including SEO, SEM, and paid advertising, to increase brand awareness, lead generation, and user engagement. Dr. Sina also developed and implemented online marketing and brand management strategies in collaboration with channel specialists.

More recently, Dr. Schmal served as a Digital Marketing Manager at OXID eSales AG, where they were responsible for all online marketing channels and the development and implementation of digital marketing strategies. Dr. Sina focused on increasing visibility, brand awareness, new customer acquisition, and lead generation through various online and performance marketing channels.

Dr. Schmal also has experience in lecturing, having worked as a Dozent (lecturer) in Quantitative Marketing Management at DHBW Lörrach.

Currently, Dr. Schmal holds the position of Senior Marketing Manager at Styla, where they are responsible for implementing a strong growth strategy for the Styla Frontend product. Dr. Sina focuses on lead generation, nurturing activities, and the optimization of campaigns to turn leads into users and advocates, following the Product Led Growth approach.

Dr. Sina Schmal earned a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree in Business Administration and Management, General from The Philipp University of Marburg, which they attended from 2002 to 2008. Dr. Sina later pursued a Doctor of Science degree in the same field at The Philipp University of Marburg from 2010 to 2016.

In addition to their academic credentials, Dr. Schmal has obtained various certifications. In March 2012, they completed workshops on MAXQDA 10 - Compact Starter and Qualitative Content Analysis offered by the Philipps University of Marburg. In September 2011, they also attended a workshop on Introduction to AMOS provided by IBM.

In recent years, Dr. Schmal has further expanded their knowledge and skills by obtaining certifications in various areas. In August 2021, they completed the HubSpot Marketing-Software-Zertifizierung and SEO certifications through HubSpot Academy. In December 2021, they acquired certifications in OXID eShop Administration and OXID eSales Visual CMS from OXID eSales AG. In March 2022, they obtained certifications in Content Marketing und Content Strategy from VERDURE Medienteam GmbH and Digital Marketing Analytics Fundamentals from OMR.
