Billy Harper has a diverse and extensive work experience in the field of character art, rigging, and animation. Billy began their career at Xerxes Incorporated in 1998, where they worked on creating 3D sequences for various advertising projects. Billy then joined Sony Interactive Entertainment as part of an incubation team focusing on new IP for the PlayStation 2 console. After that, they joined Naughty Dog in 1999 and played a significant role in modeling, rigging, and animating characters for games like Jak & Daxter and Jak II. In 2002, they moved to Electronic Arts (EA), where they worked as a character artist, rigger, and animator, contributing to games like NFL Street and Madden 2006. In 2005, Billy co-founded The Dreamhive, a studio aimed at exclusive partnerships and remote creative experiences. Billy served as the co-founder and character director until 2009. Since then, they have been working at Sucker Punch Productions as a supervisor, overseeing various aspects like character, cinematics, animation, tech art, lighting, and sound.

Billy Harper completed their Bachelor of Arts degree in Fine and Studio Arts from Fairmont State University between the years 1991 and 1995. Following this, they pursued a Master of Engineering degree in 3D Design & Animation from East Tennessee State University, which they completed from 1996 to 1998.
