Software Engineer at Summer

Zach Parent is currently a software engineer at Summer. Zach previously worked as a software engineer at Google from July 2019 to June 2022. Before that, they were an intern at Clinc, Inc. from May 2018 to November 2018, where they created endpoints and methods for catching webhooks to enable secure on-demand bank data retrieval. Zach also overhauled the licensing structure to allow for SaaS deployments and limiting the number of users. In addition, they developed an interactive web service, the “AWS Wizard,” to allow non-technical members to start, maintain and shutdown custom Amazon Web Services instances with automated stack startup. Zach has also supported deployments for some of the largest banks in the world when errors would arise.

Parent’s other internships include working as a systems architecture modeling intern at General Atomics Aeronautical Systems from June 2017 to August 2017 and as an engineering process use case modeling intern at the NASA Jet Propulsion Laboratory from May 2017 to June 2017. Zach was also a systems engineering intern at the NASA Jet Propulsion Laboratory from June 2016 to September 2016.

Zach Parent is a certified graphic designer and illustrator who also has a Bachelor of Engineering in Aerospace, Aeronautical and Astronautical/Space Engineering from the University of Michigan. Zach also has certification from Lynda.com in SOLIDWORKS and Surfacing with SOLIDWORKS, as well as a Class B Commercial Driver License with Passenger Endorsement, Air Brakes Endorsement, and Chauffeur's License from the Michigan Secretary of State.
