Austin Zacharko

Austin Zacharko has a diverse range of work experience. Austin started their career as an Intern at the GhanaThink Foundation in 2018, where they worked on program development. Austin then became a Junior Fellow at Engineers Without Borders Canada, gaining valuable experience in the field. In 2018, they also co-founded the Indigenous Engineering Students' Association and worked as a Research Assistant at the University of Sydney.

In 2020, Austin became an Analyst at The Delphi Group, and in 2021, they transitioned to the role of Energy Management Engineer at Capital Power. At the same time, they were selected as a Fellow for the Student Energy Leaders Fellowship, where they contributed to various initiatives until October 2021. During this time, they also served as a Renewable Energy Instructor at Lakeland College Canada from October 2021 to August 2022.

In 2022, Austin joined Indigenous Clean Energy as a Catalyst 20/20, supporting their clean energy projects. Austin currently works as a Business Development Associate at SunGrid.

Overall, Austin Zacharko has gained expertise in business development, renewable energy, energy management, and environmental analysis throughout their career.

Austin Zacharko completed their Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from the Faculty of Engineering at the University of Alberta. Austin attended the university from 2015 to 2019.

After completing their undergraduate degree, Austin pursued further education at Carleton University. Austin enrolled in the Master of Engineering program with a focus on Sustainable Energy for the year 2019 to 2020.

In addition to their formal education, Austin has also obtained several certifications. Austin received the Essential Skills 200 certification from ECO Canada in March 2021. Austin also obtained the Engineer In Training certification from The Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of Alberta (APEGA) in January 2020.
