Tommy's military experience includes serving as a Command Master Chief at Naval Mine and Anti-Submarine Warfare Command/Naval Surface and Mine Warfighting Development Center, where they managed personnel and projects in the restructuring and establishment of two organizations. Tommy was also responsible for training and operational readiness.

In their previous roles as a Command Master Chief at Explosive Ordnance Disposal Group ONE, EODMU THREE, and EODGRU ONE, Tommy was responsible for leading and mentoring personnel, conducting global EOD operations, and overseeing training and readiness programs.
