Asad Akram

Asad Akram has a significant amount of work experience in the technology industry. They began their career as a Software Engineering Intern at Motorola in 2008, where they helped automate testing processes. They then worked as an Electrical and Computer Engineering Tutor at the Illinois Institute of Technology, where they provided assistance to undergraduate students in various fields.

In 2010, Asad joined Navman Wireless as a Field Application Engineer Intern, followed by an internship as an Information Assurance Analyst at Motorola.

In 2011, they became a Sr. Software Engineer at Motorola Solutions, where they developed mission-critical infrastructure software applications and managed product lab testing.

From 2012 to 2014, Asad worked as a Software Engineer at NetApp before joining Salesforce, where they held multiple roles. They started as a Senior Member of Technical Staff and then became a Lead Software Engineer, focusing on developing a phone calling application for increased sales productivity.

In 2014, Asad joined Baarei as the Co-founder and CTO, leading a team of 9 engineers in building a sales and marketing alignment platform.

They later joined Zendesk in 2019, starting as an Engineering Team Lead for Foundation analytics data engineering. They also served as an Engineering Team Lead for Trial & In Product Engagement Experience and an Engineering Manager for Growth.

Currently, Asad works at SupportLogic as the Director of Engineering, responsible for building software applications and owning various products. They were recently promoted to the position of Senior Director of Engineering.

Throughout their career, Asad has gained experience in team management, software development, data engineering, and product ownership.

Asad Akram has a diverse educational background. Asad attended Lahore Grammar School from 1997 to 2006, where they completed their A-levels with a focus on Math, Physics, and Chemistry. Following this, Asad pursued a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from 2006 to 2009 at the Illinois Institute of Technology. Continuing their studies at the same institution, they completed a Master's degree in Computer Science from 2009 to 2010. In 2016, Asad obtained a certification in Machine Learning from UC Berkeley College of Engineering. Lastly, in 2017, they attended the University of California, Berkeley, Haas School of Business, where they obtained a certification in Product Management.
