Aaron Roper

Lead Geospatial Scientist at SWCA

Aaron Roper has a diverse work experience in the field of geospatial science and conservation. Aaron'smost recent position was as an Associate Project Geospatial Scientist at SWCA Environmental Consultants, where they began in August 2018. Prior to that, they worked as a GIS Contractor for the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) from March 2017 to August 2018. Aaron also gained experience as a Conservation Corps Member at American Conservation Experience in 2015 and as a Raptor Monitor Intern at City of Boulder Open Space & Mountain Parks from January 2014 to August 2014.

Aaron Roper's education history begins in 2004 when they attended Denver School of the Arts and pursued studies in Visual Arts until 2010. In 2010, they enrolled at the University of Colorado Boulder and obtained a Bachelor of Arts (BA) in Environmental Studies, completing their degree in 2014. During their time at the University, in 2013, Aaron briefly studied Sustainable Development at Uppsala University. Seeking further educational advancement, they attended Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam (VU Amsterdam) from 2015 to 2016, where they earned a Master of Science (M.Sc.) in Natural Resources Management and Policy. In 2017, Aaron enrolled at the University of Denver and obtained a Certificate of Advanced Study in Geographic Information Science and Cartography.
