Project Environmental Planner -water Resources Specialist at SWCA

Daniel Spivak has a diverse work experience in the field of environmental planning and water resources. Daniel is currently working at SWCA Environmental Consultants as an Associate Project Environmental Planner - Water Resources Specialist. Prior to this role, they served as an Assistant Project Environmental Planner - Water Resources Specialist and Staff Environmental Planner at the same company.

Before joining SWCA Environmental Consultants, Daniel worked at Dynamic Planning + Science as an Associate Planner. In this role, they monitored Colorado State legislative bills related to water quality and quantity and provided updates to elected officials and environmental professionals. Daniel also conducted extensive research on successful water supply projects in Colorado and drafted memos on current state water resources policy and its impact on local jurisdictions.

Daniel co-authored a book chapter on groundwater hydrology in Bangalore, India, and conducted research on groundwater monitoring wells in the same region.

Daniel's early work experience includes serving as a Scientific Aid at the California Environmental Protection Agency, where they conducted research and analysis on water quality control plans and supported the development of policy amendments for discharges of dredged or fill materials to state waters. Daniel also served as an AmeriCorps member, contributing to community service initiatives.

Daniel Spivak completed their Bachelor of Arts in Anthropology at the University of California, Berkeley in 2014. Daniel then pursued a Master of Public Policy at UC Irvine, specializing in Water Resources Management and Policy, Global Climate Change Policy, and Sustainable Development. Daniel completed their master's degree in 2018.
